March 30--Firefighters from several local companies were called to fight a fire in a Fallston barn on Friday afternoon.

The call for a working building fire in the 800 block of Reckord Road was broadcast by Harford County's emergency dispatch shortly after 2 p.m.

Several pieces of firefighting equipment and medical support were requested from the Fallston, Bel Air, Kingsville and Long Green volunteer fire companies in Harford and Baltimore counties, according to monitored broadcasts.

A photograph sent from the scene shortly before 2:30 p.m. showed the barn was nearly destroyed.

A one alarm fire was brought under control with 30 minutes with no injuries reported, the Harford Fire and EMS Association posted on its media Facebook page. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office, according to the post.

The barn is one of three on the property in the Old Fallston rural residential neighborhood near St. Mark's Catholic Church and the Fallston Airport.
