April 01--Authorities monitored more than a dozen brushfires in Central Florida on Monday.
At the same time, Florida's Forest Service reported that Orange and Seminole counties are at a very high risk for wildfires.
Several fires are reported west of Orlando in the Kissimmee area, including a blaze off Seralago Boulevard at West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, and another near State Road 429 and Interstate 4.
In Seminole County, several fires are reported east of Oviedo, including one burning off State Road 46 near Prevatt Road in the Geneva area.
Even though rain is in the forecast for Central Florida this week and will bring some relief to the dry conditions, meteorologists warn that thunderstorms have the potential to spark fires because of lightning.
Troopers monitored the wildfires Monday, but do not report any visibility issues caused by the blazes.
Locations of some of the other fires being monitored Monday include:
State Road 44 west of Scrub Oak Lane in Lake County.
Church Street at Mills Street in Umatilla.
U.S. 441 at Coaches Lane in Saint Cloud.
