April 01--CLINTON -- Investigators will be on the scene today to figure out what caused a fire that destroyed Ted's Garage restaurant and two other buildings on Clinton's west side.

Firefighters were on the scene for much of the overnight hours, but had cleared by 6:30 a.m. The restaurant, a popular 50's-themed restaurant which included a collection of vintage cars, was totally destroyed in the fire which started after 5 p.m. in a parts department storage shed for Baum Chevrolet Buick, located next door, to the west of the restaurant. High winds fanned the flames toward the restaurant, which was closed for Easter Sunday.

A message posted on the restaurant's website thanks everyone for their support, including the American Red Cross and the firefighters from Clinton, Wapella, Maroa, Kenney and Hickory Point in Forsyth, for their help.

The restaurant was totally gutted by the fire and will be closed indefinitely.
