May 05--CATOOSA -- Firefighters worked for hours to put out a blaze at a strip mall Saturday.

The Catoosa Fire Department was fighting the fire and evacuating the other businesses in the center when units from the Tulsa Fire Department arrived, Tulsa Assistant Fire Marshal Rick Bruder said.

Engine and ladder trucks from Tulsa were called out just after 9 a.m. to the Dollar General store in the shopping center near the corner of 193rd East Avenue and Admiral Place, Bruder said.

The fire damaged or destroyed the Dollar General, Goo Ruu Pizza and Sister's Closet, a clothing store. The fire caused the roof to collapse at Dollar General and the pizza restaurant, meaning they would likely have to be demolished, he said.

A fire wall on the east side of the clothing store prevented the fire from spreading into a Shelter Insurance office and O'Reilly Auto Parts store also in the shopping center, Bruder said.

At the height of the blaze about 60 Tulsa fire personnel were at the scene.

Investigators are looking into what caused the fire. There were no injuries.
