Six Ga. Firefighters Injured in Apparatus Crash

One of the six Clayton County firefighters was airlifted from the crash scene.

Six firefighters were injured after their fire truck collided with a tractor-trailer in Clayton County on Tuesday evening. One firefighter was airlifted from the scene of the crash.

With lights and sirens activated, the appartus was traveling southbound on Old Dixie Highway when it approached the rear of a tractor-trailer that was also southbound, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

The fire apparatus had moved into the northbound lane and it was struck by the tractor-trailer as it made a left turn.

All six firefighters, including the one who was airlifted, were taken to the Atlanta Medical Center, according to WSBTV. The extent of injuries were unknown at the time
