Fire Destroys Popular Pa. Bar

The fire burned through the roof of the Back Road Ale House in Swoyersville.

June 08--A fire that razed a landmark corner bar in Swoyersville on Thursday was an accident, a state police fire marshal said Friday.

Fire Marshal Ron Jarocha ruled the fire an accident but deferred questions about the cause of the blaze to Swoyersville Fire Chief John Konopka. Konopka could not be reached for comment.

The fire burned through the roof of the Back Road Ale House on 1001 Main Street. One firefighter was treated at the scene for an unknown injury.
