Two Ky. Firefighters Hurt in Ambulance Wreck

Two Lexington firefighters suffered minor injuries after an SUV hit the ambulance in which they were caring for a patient.

June 15--Two firefighters in an ambulance sustained minor injuries after a wreck Friday at Alumni Drive and Tates Creek Road.

Lexington fire department Battalion Chief Jeff Nantz said an ambulance was transporting a patient and two firefighters were caring for the patient when the wreck happened at about 4 p.m. All three were taken to the hospital.

Police Lt. Sam Murdock said a green Ford Explorer hit the ambulance while turning from Tates Creek Road onto Alumni Drive. The Explorer's driver was not hurt.
