Pa. Firefighters Rescue Teen Girl From River

The girl was clinging to tree branches wrapped around one of the bridge's piers when Bethlehem crews responded.

June 16--The Bethlehem Fire Department rescued a 14-year-old girl from the Lehigh River Saturday afternoon near the Hill-to-Hill Bridge.

The girl was clinging to tree branches wrapped around one of the bridge's piers when crews responded about 1:30 p.m., according to the fire department.

Responders used a boat to reach the girl before she lost her grip on the branches. She was hypothermic and transported to the hospital, according to the fire department. Further information was not immediately available.
