Mo. Firefighter Is Critical in a Burn Unit After House Fire

A Marshfield firefighter is in critical condition in a burn unit after a mutual aid house fire in Niangua Saturday night.

A firefighter from Marshfield, Mo., was severely burned at a house fire Saturday night and is in critical condition at a burn unit.

According to KSPR 33, a local television station, the fire happened in Niangua and the burned firefighter was taken to Mercy Hospital.

A second firefighter was also injured but treated and released. Neither of the injured firefighters were identified, according to the television station which quoted a Springfield Fire Department spokesperson.

Local radio station KTTS 94.7 FM said Marshfield firefighters were called to Niangua to help battle the blaze. The state fire marshal’s office is investigating the blaze.
