It’s time to put the finishing touches on SAFER grant applications.
FEMA officials announced Tuesday they will receive applications now through 5 p.m. Aug. 30.
Recently awarded grants have helped many departments prevent layoffs.
The money can be used to hire or retain career firefighters as well as pay for programs to recruit and retain volunteers.
