Missouri Department Mourning Loss of Asst. Chief

Chillicothe Assistant Chief Joe Darr, 62, died Sept. 4 after being stricken at work last month.

A fire department in Missouri is mourning the loss of their assistant chief.

While working at the Chillicothe Fire Department last month, Assistant Chief Joe Darr, 62, was found unresponsive.

He was transported to the Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe and later transferred to St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, according to the USFA.

Although he was released from the hospital, Darr was again found unresponsive on Sept. 4. He was transported back to St. Luke's Hospital where he died.

The cause of death is pending.
