Fire on School Bus Injures Two Children in Florida

Two students and an aide were injured when a school bus caught fire in Ocala Friday.

Three people were injured when a school bus filled with dozens of children caught fire in Ocala on Friday.

Ocala Fire Rescue crews responded to the fire on Southwest 27 Avenue at 4:23 and found smoke pouring from the school bus two minutes later.

“The fire started in the engine compartment which quickly filled the bus with smoke," said Battalion Chief Rick Doucett.

Two adults helped the 64 children evacuate the bus.  

Two children and the adult aide were transported to the hospital for evaluation.
