Relatives said the victims were Alcedo Urena, his wife, Nancy, 39; a son Jesus, 21; and a daughter, Mariselis, 18.

A son Raymundo, 17, was injured and being treated at a hospital.

One victim was found inside a basement door, two at the foot of the steps in the basement and the fourth near a back door of the house, Mount Vernon Chief Ted Stevenson told reporters.

A door leading outside from the basement was locked from the inside and outside, Stevenson said.

While the fire remains under investigation, there was speculation it started in a car and spread to the house.

Three firefighters were injured, and one was transported for treatment.
