The car lurched forward after the initial crash and struck a second firefighter.

Two firefighters were transported to a local hospital Sunday after being hit by a car.

The injuries weren't considered life-threatening, officers told Amarillo Globe News reporters Sunday evening.

Troopers said a driver got confused, and struck a firefighter directing traffic about 3:45 p.m. Sunday.

When the driver got out to speak with officials, another firefighter attempted to turn off the vehicle. But, it lurched forward and struck a second crew member.
