Nov. 14--A teenage boy was injured and two homes were damaged when an Elk Grove trailer exploded early Thursday morning.

The victim, a 16-year-old, was transported in critical condition to UC Davis Medical Center.

At 7:37 a.m., the Cosumnes Fire Deparment received a call of a trailer fire at 8572 Alpine Blue Court in Elk Grove.

When firefighters arrived, they found the boy had been badly burned in an explosion, which also damaged two homes.

The explosion apparently came from a propane tank for a water heater in a camper-style trailer parked next to one of the houses.
