Three Children Hurt in Oklahoma House Fire

Three children were in a Texas burn unit after a fire broke out at their home in Purcell.

Nov. 20--Three children who suffered burn injuries in a house fire in Purcell Wednesday have been flown to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, said Luke Tallant, assistant state fire marshal. Authorities have not determined the cause of the 2 a.m. fire at 621 S Canadian. The mother and father of the children were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene. The mother, who woke up and smelled smoke, was able to get the children out of a window to escape the fire. The father found heavy flames in the living room, Tallant said.

About 2 a.m., firefighters responded to a house fire at 621 S Canadian, a Purcell dispatcher said.

Fire crews remained at the scene early Wednesday, the dispatcher said.
