Nov. 28--A man died early Thursday in a fire in the 500 block of General Krueger Boulevard north of downtown, according to news reports.
The fire broke out just after 4:30 a.m., according to fire department records, which list a civilian fatality. The building was a multifamily home, the records show.
The fire department estimates $23,000 in damages from the fire. The cause is still under investigation.
A small detached apartment behind the main house was fully engulfed in flames, local television station KSAT reported.
Firefighters found the man's body inside the doorway of the apartment, according to the report.
