Chicago Apartment Fire Displaces 13

The fire started shortly after 2 p.m. on the top floor of a 3-story apartment building.

Dec. 07--At least 13 people were displaced this afternoon after a fire broke at an apartment building on the South Side in the city's Washington Park neighborhood.

The fire started shortly after 2 p.m. on the top floor of a 3-story apartment building located on the 5700 block of South Indiana Avenue, according to Fire Media information.

As of 2:50 p.m., fire officials reported the fire had been struck out.

The Department of Human Services was called to the scene to assist seven adults and six children, said Fire Media.

As of 2:53 p.m., no injuries were reported.
