Dec. 11--CRESTLINE -- A Chino man suffered major injuries when he was struck by a fire truck Tuesday in Crestline.

Seandor Wayne Flis, 23, was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center for treatment of injuries to his chest and back. He is in critical condition, said hospital spokesman Herbert Atienza.

California Highway Patrol Officer Alfredo Chen said no one has been cited or arrested in the crash.

"We have (investigators) out there looking at every possible reason why this happened," Chen said.

CHP officers say Flis was struck by a San Bernardino County fire truck at midnight in the driveway of San Bernardino County Fire Station 25 at 23407 Crest Forest Drive. The building used to be operated by the Crest Forest Fire Protection District until the county absorbed the organization in June.

There were two county fire employees in the brush engine at the time of the collision.

The CHP's Major Accident Investigation Team continued conducting interviews Wednesday in search of a cause for the incident.

San Bernardino County fire spokeswoman Tracey Martinez referred questions about the crash to the CHP. She declined to say whether the firefighters were heading to or returning from a call.

She said the department plans to review its policies and procedures in connection with the collision.

"That's standard operating procedure anytime you have an incident like this," she said.

Neither of the firefighters have been placed on administrative leave.
