The driver of the Mercedes reportedly didn't yield to the responding rig.

Dec. 30---- A fire truck and Mercedes station wagon collided at Fifth and Howard Streets on Sunday morning, injuring two firefighters, according to San Francisco police.

The crash happened when the driver of the Mercedes heading west on Howard failed to yield to the lights and sirens of a ladder truck traveling north on Fifth, said San Francisco police Lt. Julian Hill.

Two firefighters were transported to a hospital. There was no further information on them or the occupants of the other vehicle.

The location where the crash occurred is the same intersection where a firefighter suspected of being drunk struck a motorcyclist with a ladder truck and left the scene in June, authorities said.
