Three Dead in Shooting at Maryland Mall

Fire and EMS crews are at the Columbia Mall for an active shooter incident.

Officials say that three people area dead after an active shooter incident at a mall in Maryland Saturday morning.

The incident happened at the The Mall in Columbia, which is about 15 minutes southwest of Baltimore.

The incident was reported at 11:15 a.m..

"Police made entry and found three dead, one found near a gun and ammunition." Howard County Police officials tweeted.

Radio traffic from the scene indicated that at least one person was transported by medics to a local hospital.

Crews were splitting into task forces to look for and treat victims.

Dozens of customers were evacuated from the mall.

Mutual aid resources from Anne Arundel, Baltimore and Montgomery County fire departments are assisting at the scene and covering stations.
