Feb. 09--Firefighters found a man and two young boys dead in a burning house early this morning in Harborcreek Township.

The fire at 629 Walbridge Road was reported at about 1:30 a.m., an East County emergency dispatcher said.

Fairfield Hose Co. Chief Jim Hawryliw said the multiple story house was heavily involved in fire when crews arrived. He said they entered and found the bodies of an adult male and two boys believed to be under the age of 5. Their names were not yet available.

"It really gets you," Hawryliw said. "Nobody wants to see anybody die but when it's a child, it's 100 percent worse."

He said investigators, including a state police fire marshal, were called to the scene of the blaze. Hawryliw said the cause of the fire wasn't immediately known.

The chief asked homeowners to clear a path in the snow and ice around fire hydrants. He said buried hydrants can make it harder for firefighters to their job.
