March 10--FAIRFIELD -- One person is dead after fire tore through a home on Crane Street, police and fire officials said.
Firefighters were dispatched to the fire at 135 Crane St. shortly before 1 a.m. and arrived within minutes to find heavy fire coming from the first and second floor of the home, fire officials said.
Two occupants were rescued from a second floor bedroom and taken to Bridgeport Hospital. Police said one of the fire victims died and the second is in critical condition.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
