April 12--Several businesses were damaged or destroyed in a fire Friday that swept through part of an industrial park in Mercer County.

There were no reports of injuries in the fire that erupted around 5:30 p.m. along Fourth Street in the Reynolds Industrial Park, said Pymatuning Patrolman Tony Settle.

It took firefighters from throughout the county, and from Lawrence and Crawford counties and some communities in Ohio, more than three hours to bring the fire under control, Settle said. Many of the firefighters remained on the scene hosing down hot spots, he said.

The fire occurred in several long, interconnected one-story buildings that date back to the days of Camp Reynolds, a former U.S. military installation that was built during World War II.
