Second Man Dies in S.C. House Fire

He was the fourth to die in fires since the Easter weekend.

April 22--A second man died Tuesday at a burn center in Georgia following a fire in Murrells Inlet Saturday.

Andrew Hildebrandt, 56, did from multi-organ system failure about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday while at the Augusta Burn Center, said Georgetown County Coroner Kenny Johnson.

Hildebrandt is the second man to die in the Lotus Court fire and the fourth to die following fires Easter weekend.

On Saturday, 72-year-old Murrells Inlet resident John Long died. Long also died of multi-organ system failure at the burn center.

Murrells Inlet-Garden City Fire Rescue officials responded about 9 a.m. Saturday to 4322 Lotus Court. The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office is seeking information about the fire. Anonymous tips can be sent by texting "GCSOTIP" followed by the message to 274637.

Husband and wife Melissa, 38, and Joel Lamb, 46, of Timmonsville died following a fire on Calhoun Drive in Garden City on Easter. Melissa Lamb died in the fire while her husband died Monday from injuries sustained when he jumped from an upper floor of the three-story beach house attempting to escape the blaze.
