Willmar firefighters found a bus and three vehicles burning at Ridgewater College.

April 25--WILLMAR -- Several vehicles, including a former Kandiyohi Area Transit bus, were damaged in a fire reported just before 1 a.m. this morning at Ridgewater College.

According to Willmar Fire Chief Gary Hendrickson, firefighters were called to the college on a report of a bus and building on fire and arrived to discover that just the bus was involved in the blaze.

However, the fire spread to three other vehicles around the bus, which was parked near a fenced-in vehicle storage area on the campus, Hendrickson said. One of the vehicles was a demonstration vehicle used to show how airbags work.

The cause of the fire is unknown and is potentially suspicious, Hendrickson said. The value of the vehicles was undetermined and the case remains under investigation.

Fire crews were on the scene for about an hour.
