Two Killed in Early Morning House Fire in Ohio

May 26--FOSTORIA -- Two people were killed and one person was injured in a house fire early today in this Northwest Ohio community, authorities said.

Two of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene, Capt. James Walters, of Fostoria Fire Department, said.

The third victim was flown to ProMedica Toledo Hospital with burns, Captain Walters said. The names of the victims and the medical condition of the surviving victim were not released.

The fire department crews were dispatched after the fire at 614 S. Poplar St. was reported at 3:05 a.m. and brought the fire under control sometime by 8:30 a.m., according to the fire captain.

The fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshals Office, which released no further information.

Fostoria, in Hancock, Seneca, Wood counties, is about 35 miles southeast of Toledo.
