May 27--COLTON -- The last of three Loma Linda firefighters who suffered electrical shock injuries when a fire truck touched a power line has been released from a hospital, Colton fire officials said Tuesday.

The firefighter, whose name wasn't available, suffered burns that stretched from his chest to his feet.

"It's expected to be a long recovery," said Colton fire Capt. David Santos.

Firefighters came to the 1400 block of East Washington Street in Colton around 11:30 p.m. Saturday and they found the roof of a building on fire. The site had been used earlier in the week for live fire training.

It is unknown whether the fire was the result of material left smoldering from the training, or some other cause.

After gaining control of the blaze, firefighters were loading the fire hose back onto a truck when the aerial apparatus hit a 12,000-volt power line.

Three firefighters who were touching the truck at the time were shocked.

Paramedics took all three men to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton for treatment.

One was treated and released the same night, and another remained hospitalized until the next day, Santos said.

"The truck remains out of service for evaluation and testing," Santos said.
