D.C. House Explodes; Fire Spreads to Others

The blast blew out the back of one rowhouse.

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Officials are on the scene of a house fire in DC.

According to officials on Twitter, the two-alarm fire happened at a home located in the 1600 block of Isherwood Street, N.E. Officials say the "rear of the building has collapsed" and the conditions are "extremely dangerous."

The fire was originally reported as a 'house explosion', officials said.

Crews are battling in 'defensive mode', which means they are currently pouring water on it from outside the house.
