Montana Apparatus Collision Leaves Chief Injured

Fort Shaw's tender and brush truck collided while responding to a grass fire

A Montana fire chief was seriously injured Tuesday when his water tender collided with a brush truck while responding to a grass fire.

Fort Shaw Chief Dave Anderson was driving the tender which flipped onto its side, pinning him, KRTV reported.

Anderson, who suffered chest injuries, was listed in critical condition in Benefis hospital.

The firefighter driving the brush truck was not hurt.

Black Eagle Fire, Great Falls Emergency Services and Teton County ambulance assisted at the crash scene.

Mutual aid companies will provide tender service until further notice.
