Texas DoubleTree Hotel Evacuated After Fire

The fire in the downtown Midland structure was extinguished by an overhead sprinkler system.

July 31--Midland firefighters extinguished a fire Wednesday evening that ignited in the DoubleTree by Hilton in downtown Midland.

Emergency personnel responded at about 8:32 p.m. Wednesday to the hotel, where numerous people were evacuated.

The fire was extinguished by an overhead sprinkler system, according to a firefighter at the scene.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown as fire officials continue their investigation.
