South Hopkins Vol. Fire Company was destroyed by fire Wednesday night.

A Kentucky fire station was destroyed by fire Wednesday night.

South Hopkins Fire Chief Darwin Rideout told KFVS reporters it's too early to say what caused the fire.

Five fire trucks were in the station when it caught fire about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday. Firefighters from at least a half dozen companies responded to the call.

Rideout said fire departments around the area will be stepping up to help cover emergencies.
