Ohio Firefighter Dies of Heart Attack Suffered at Scene

A veteran Ohio firefighter who fell ill at a house fire Nov. 18 has died.

Lakeville Firefighter Tom Rhamey died Friday at Akron City Hospital.

Rhamey drove a tanker to a working house fire in Shreve, and collapsed at the scene. 

He was transported to a local hospital, but later flown to Akron for further treatment.

The department posted updates on the 55-year veteran firefighter on its Facebook page.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
