A Howard County woman and her pets perished in a house fire Monday afternoon.
Firefighters from Ellicott City encountered very heavy fire through the roof and consuming the home. They received information that there may be an occupant still in the residence, and entered as soon as fire conditions permitted.
The woman, a dog and cat were found deceased.
The cause is under investigation.
