N.Y. Firefighter Arrested for Vandalism at Firehouse

Two weeks after the Clarksville Fire Company suffered tens of thousands of dollars in damage to their equipment, a member of the department was arrested. 

Damean M. Kessler, 21, who served as a volunteer firefighter in Clarksville, was arrested by New York State Police following their investigation into the Dec. 21 incident.

Kessler was charged with criminal mischief and tampering with physical evidence. He was remanded to the Allegany County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail. 

Officials say the damage, including spray paint on apparatus, PPE and destruction of computers, totaled more than $30,000.
