Lorain firefighters used warm water for the rescue.

Firefighters are often called to rescue cats stuck in trees.

But, in Lorain, Ohio Wednesday crews were called to help free a cat whose tail was frozen to the ground.

A girl poured warm water over the tail, but called for backup when her efforts failed.

Lt. Scott Wood told WKYC reporters firefighters were able to use more warm water to free the cat.

At last report, the chilled feline  had moved inside and was enjoying a bowl of food.
