Two Marbletown firefighters were injured Monday morning when their personal vehicle veered off the road.

The driver of the truck, Kyle Verstraete, 24, of Newark, was transported by Mercy Flight helicopter to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

His passenger, Robert Lee, 24, was transported to Newark Wayne Community Hospital by ambulance.

Verstraete failed to negotiate a curve, and the truck went over the guardrail and down the 40-foot embankment. It landed on its roof.
