Two Canadian Firefighters Hurt in Explosion

An explosion injured two firefighters in Oakville, Ontario, Thursday evening.

Crews were called to an alarm activation at the Palermo Village retirement home shortly after 7 p.m.

Firefighters were investigating a smoke odor in a basement electrical room when the explosion happened, according to CBC News.

Officials said power was out in the area after the explosion.

The Oakville Professional Firefighters Association later tweeted; "The outpouring of well wishes has been amazing. Thank u everyone. Two of our FF's (sic) were transported to hospital with minor injuries."
