Vehicle Crashes into Philly Station, Damages Ambulance

The unit damaged has only been in service for a few months.

A car plowed through the door of a Philadelphia Engine company early Friday damaging a new ambulance.

Firefighters in Engine 52 in Wissinoming were sleeping when the crash occurred about 1:50 a.m.

The driver, who suffered minor injuries. told the crew he may have fallen asleep.

The ALS-equipped ambulance that was damaged has only been in service for a few months. It had about 11,000 miles on it.
