A brush fire was being extinguished in Oxford when the threat was made.

A Massachusetts man was arrested after threatening to kill a firefighter battling a brush fire.

"I will kill you if you don't leave. You won't think it's funny when a bullet cracks your helmet," Jason West, 42, is reported to have said to a firefighter, according to MyFoxBoston.

Oxford firefighters had been evacuating the woods, where West lives, when they said the threat occurred.

He reportedly resisted arrest, and once in jail threw feces at a security camera and on the walls of his cell, the station reported.

West was taken to the hospital for an evaluation.
