N.C. Ambulance Destroyed by Fire During Response

An ambulance on its way to a crash caught fire and burned in Davidson County this week.

An ambulance on its way to a crash caught fire and burned in Davidson County this week.

According to the local television station, MyFox8.com, the Wake Forest Baptist Health ambulance was on its way to a motor vehicle accident when the fire started. The ambulance stopped at the intersection fo U.S. 52 South at Old U.S. 52.

No one was hurt, but the fire touched off oxygen tank explosions, according to the television station report.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
