Pittsburgh Pumper Hits Bridge Support

Two Pittsburgh firefighters were injured when their apparatus crashed into a bridge support Tuesday.

The crew of four was returning from a service when it crashed into a Birmingham Bridge support around 9 a.m.

Photos from the scene show that the impact of the truck on the officer's side of the cab.

Pittsburgh public safety spokeswoman Sonya Toler told TribLive.com that the rig was “significantly damaged."

Two firefighters were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by Pittsburgh police.
