Car Plows Through Calif. Building, Ends Up in Pool

Firefighters carried their extrication tools into the pool to free the driver.

A car crashed through a Camarillo apartment building and ended up in a swimming pool last week.

The driver suffered a medical emergency, according to Ventura County Fire Capt. Mike Lindbery.

The vehicle barreled through the leasing office in the 4000 block of Paseo Camarillo.

Firefighters entered the pool with their extrication tools to free the driver.

The department's urban search and rescue team was called to access the damage to the structure. 

Due to the damage, the team set up shoring to stabilize the structure.

An AMR Ventura County crew transported the driver to the hospital.

No other injuries were reported.
