The fire started a little after 3 a.m. at 624 Fronheiser St., according to Johnstown Fire Department Assistant Chief Tom Horner.
That residence was “gutted” inside, but did not appear to suffer major structural damage, Horner said.
Smoke entered neighboring 622 Fronheiser, he said.
Both of those residences were occupied.
A vacant home at 626 Fronheiser received smoke and fire damage.
“Most of the damage was in 624,” Horner said.
One person was taken to the hospital, according to Horner.
The person’s name was unavailable.
Johnstown Fire Department, Johnstown Police Department and 7th Ward ambulance responded. Red Cross representatives assisted the displaced residents.
An investigation into the cause is underway.
