Texas FF/EMT Killed in Ambulance Crash

Burnet EMT/FF Daniel Hampton was driving an ambulance that struck a rig.

An ambulance crash claimed the life of a Texas EMT, and left a medic and patient injured.

Burnet EMT/Firefighter Daniel Hampton was driving the ambulance that struck a rig on Texas 29 between Bertram and Liberty Hill. 

Paramedic Timothy Pierce and a patient whose name has not been released were transported to separate hospitals in Round Rock following the 9 p.m. Friday crash.

Pierce has been moved from intensive care and is recovering. The patient is in critical condition.

Hampton was a member of the department for two years and was about to take a full-time position with the Brady Fire Department.

The flag at the Burnet Fire Department is flying at half mast.
