Feb. 28, 2016
Two Tulsa firefighters were caught when a porch collapsed.

Three Tulsa firefighters were injured while battling an apartment fire Saturday.

Crews said they could see the flames while responding to the Deerfield Estates Apartments around 11:30 a.m.

Two firefighters were burned when a balcony collapsed on them, Capt. Stan May told Newson6.com. They will visit a burn specialist for further treatment today.

Another firefighter suffered rib injuries when a ceiling collapsed.

May said all three were treated and released Saturday afternoon.

A child was treated for smoke inhalation by EMSA crews at the scene.

Officials said the fire started with improperly discarded smoking materials.
