Brookesmith firefighter Calvin Wells and his family lost their home to a fire Monday.
Firefighters from Bangs, Brownwood, Early and Lake Bridge responded with Brookesmith crews to the fire on County Road 189.
Flames engulfed the trailer home by the time fire crews arrived.
Bangs Fire and Rescue posted the following on their Facebook page: "Unfortunately the home was a total loss, with the family losing everything. This was the home of a Brookesmith firefighter."
"And we are all family in fire service. Brookesmith is one of many departments that has always been there to help us serve our community," the post continued. "Prayers go out to the family. And a huge thanks to everyone who helped to fight this fire today."
"After 13 years of responding to fires, I now fully understand the thoughts, feelings, and helplessness that goes through a person's mind when they lose their home and belongings," Wells posted on his Facebook page Tuesday morning.
A GoFundMe page was established to help the Wells family.
