LA Firefighters Hurt in Ladder Truck Rollover

Oct. 17, 2016
An eyewitness said a firefighter was thrown from the Shreveport ladder truck.

Two firefighters were injured when a ladder truck crashed in Shreveport Monday afternoon.

A witness told local television station KSLA that the apparatus, which was trying to get through the busy street, was on two wheels when moments before it rolled over on Kings Highway just before noon. It rolled over and came to rest on the officer's side of the apparatus.

Another bystander told the television station that a firefighter was thrown from the apparatus, but walked into the ambulance.

The crew was responding to a medical emergency, Shreveport Fire Chief Scott Wolverton said.

Both firefighters were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
