An Endicott firefighter faces second-degree arson charges in connection with a fire that damaged his home.

Police charged an Endicott firefighter for setting fire to his home over the summer.

Jason Stokes, 41, faces a second-degree arson charge in connection with the Aug. 10 fire at the East Main Street house.

New York State Police investigators determined the fire was suspicious after being called by Endicott officials and spent months investigating the fire, according to the Press & Sun-Bulletin.

All four residents escaped the 2 a.m. fire that damaged the basement and first floor of the two-story home.

Stokes has been an Endicott firefighter since 2005.
