Sioux Falls firefighters rescued a woman and are working to rescue a man.

Firefighters continue to search for a man who was trapped when building collapsed in downtown Sioux Falls Friday morning.

The three-story building at East 10th Street and South Phillips Avenue collapsed around 10:30 a.m.

Two people, a man and a woman, were inside the building, according to the Argus Leader.

The 22-year-old woman was on the phone with her mother when the collapse occurred and stayed on the phone while rescuers worked to find her.

By 1:10 p.m., firefighters rescued the woman's dog and the woman was freed from the rubble around 1:30 p.m.

Firefighters continue to remove debris from the building to locate a missing construction worker, emergency management officials told the newspaper.

"Our big concern is we don't want this building to shift," Sioux Falls Fire Rescue Chief Jim Sideras.

Rescuers from other departments are enroute to the scene to help.
